The Highlands Company is the publisher of the Highlands Ability Battery, the gold standard among assessment tools measuring individual abilities. By means of objective hands-on worksamples, we help individuals to understand their natural abilities.

A person who knows the range of his abilities is better able to use them in his life and work and in his relations with others, including his fellow workers.

We help students to plan their studies and careers, adults to achieve greater satisfaction in their work, and businesses to marshal the resources inherent in their employees. We do this by training and certifying Affiliates in the administration and interpretation of the Highlands Ability Battery

About Abilities


Abilities are hard-wired in each of us at birth. They mature and can be measured after the age of fourteen. They are different from skills, which are developed through practice and experience. An individual who knows her unique abilities is better equipped to achieve happiness and satisfaction in her work and in her relations with others.

The Highlands Battery


The Highlands Ability Battery is an objective assessment of abilities. It consists of nineteen work samples which require the performance of hands-on tasks. It is different from tests which depend on self-analysis and self-assessment. A multi-page report shows your score on each worksample.
